This is a knife I made specifically for myself. I picked this piece of steel as well as the unique plank of poplar to use for the handle very carefully. I had the wood waiting for a design I would be satisfied using it for, because of how much I love the gradation from white, through green, purple and charcoal, almost black. The shape went through constant modification for quite a while longer than it actually took to make it. This is also the first knife I made in my new charcoal forge!
I used it this summer as an all-around camp knife; it effectively split firewood, sheared kindling, and whittled among other tasks.
